La Sala SUR de Conde Duque acoge la exposición Arte en la calle. Madrid 2000-2018, promovida por el Ayuntamiento de Madrid. El objetivo de la muestra es dar a conocer un patrimonio cultural madrileño en parte desconocido, y contextualizarlo dentro del paisaje urbano de la ciudad. Para ello se recoge una selección de las intervenciones, tanto comisionadas como espontáneas, que se han realizado en el transcurso de este nuevo milenio en la ciudad de Madrid, sumándose al creciente reconocimiento del arte efímero en el espacio público de las ciudades contemporáneas, con manifestaciones notorias en las grandes capitales mundiales. La información elaborada refleja la trascendencia de las intervenciones en la ciudad, en su espacio y su arquitectura. Por primera vez es posible reconocer los patrones que vinculan cada una de las obras con el lugar en el que se realizaron, comprender la intensidad de las acciones y su presencia en los barrios a través de sus relaciones. Arte en la calle. Madrid 2000-2018 reconoce por tanto el valor emergente, tanto a nivel global como local, de un fenómeno que permite vislumbrar la nueva condición dialógica de nuestras ciudades, y un futuro en el que acción artística y vida cotidiana se fundan con naturalidad.

La muestra, comisariada por Lucila Urda Peña y Sergio Martín Blas, profesores de la ETSAM-UPM, ha contado con la participación de las coordinadoras Guiomar Martín Domínguez e Isabel Rodríguez Martín, el diseñador gráfico Nacho Martínez / Koniec, y el experto audiovisual Miquel Bixquert Grau.

Como aportación singular, la exposición incluye la elaboración en vivo de tres obras específicamente destinadas a la sala, que evolucionarán a lo largo del primer mes de la muestra en tres fases. Los autores son artistas seleccionados por la excelencia de sus obras de arte urbano en Madrid en los últimos años: E1000, Nuria Mora y Nano4814.

The South Room of the Condeduque Contemporary Arts Centre in Madrid hosted the exhibition Arte en la calle. Madrid 2000-2018 promoted by the Madrid City Council. The objective of the exhibition was to give visibility to a part of Madrid's cultural heritage that is not widely known and contextualize it within the urban landscape of the city. A selection of the interventions, both commissioned and spontaneous, that had taken place in the course of the new millennium in the city of Madrid were collected together, adding to the growing recognition of ephemeral art in the public space of contemporary cities, with some well known examples in the great capitals of the world. The information produced reflects the significance of the interventions in the city, in its space and its architecture. For the first time it is possible to recognize the patterns that link each of the works with the place in which they took place, to understand the intensity of the actions and their relationships with and presence in the neighbourhoods. Arte en la calle. Madrid 2000-2018 therefore recognized the emerging value, both globally and locally, of a phenomenon that allows us to glimpse the new dialogical condition of our cities, and a future in which artistic action and daily life merge naturally.

The exhibition, curated by Lucila Urda Peña and Sergio Martín Blas, professors at ETSAM-UPM, benefitted from the participation of the coordinators Guiomar Martín Domínguez and Isabel Rodríguez Martín, the graphic designer Nacho Martínez / Koniec, and the audio visual expert Miquel Bixquert Grau.

As a unique contribution, the exhibition included the live development of three works specifically created for the gallery, which evolved throughout the first month of the exhibition in three phases. The authors were artists selected for the excellence of their urban art works in Madrid in recent years: E1000, Nuria Mora and Nano4814.
